Koran scholar Chuck Norris warns of creeping sharia

WALLPAPER - CHUCK NORRISHappy Holy Week! This year, Walker Texas Ranger star and Internet meme Chuck Norris is celebrating things a little differently – by writing a special week-long series at WorldNetDaily on the dangers of creeping Islamic Sharia law in American society.

Norris, who wants to make clear that he is absolutely not an Islamophobe, warns that “where Muslim religion and culture has spread, Shariah law has shortly followed”:

Of course, many Americans watch on video a Middle Eastern woman allegedly caught in adultery, buried in the ground up to her head and being stoned to death, and think, “That could never happen in America.” But they fail to see how Shariah law has already been enabled and subtly invoked in our country, and that any such induction like it is brought about by understated lukewarm changes, like a frog boiled in a kettle by a slow simmer.

As proof of the slow boiling of the American frog, Norris cites three examples: A Florida judge ordering two Muslim parties to settle their dispute through Islamic arbitration, per the terms of their mutually agreed-upon contract; the push by various state legislators to ban Islamic law from state courts; and an Obama adviser telling a British audience that Sharia has been “oversimplified.” And that’s just in the last few months!

Of course, each of these points has its self-refuting flaws. Judges turn cases over to pre-selected religious arbitrators all the time, for instance, and not just for Muslims. None of the state legislators in question have produced a single example of Sharia being forced upon their states. And as for the argument that Sharia has been “oversimplified,” I would just point you to the fact that a quasi-mulleted martial arts actor from the mid 1990s feels qualified to explain to a national audience what Sharia is.

Only 3 out of 249 EU terrorist attacks were carried out by Muslims

The number of terrorist attacks recorded in the European Union last year dropped 21.2 percent to 249 compared with the previous year, the Europol police organisation said Tuesday.

“In 2010, 249 terrorist attacks were reported in nine member states,” killing seven people, it said in an annual report on terrorism within the 27-member bloc.

Most of these attacks, 160, were carried out by separatist groups and only three by Islamic groups, it added.

Cf. David Cameron’s speech at the Munich security conference in February, in which he stated:

“… the biggest threat that we face comes from terrorist attacks … we should acknowledge that this threat comes in Europe overwhelmingly from young men who follow a completely perverse, warped interpretation of Islam, and who are prepared to blow themselves up and kill their fellow citizens.”

EDL youth facing jail over brawl

Joel_TitusA teenager from north-west London who is a prominent member of the English Defence League (EDL) is facing jail over his role in a pre-arranged fight between football hooligans.

Joel Titus, 18, [in centre of photo] took part in the bloody brawl between Brentford and Leyton Orient supporters outside Liverpool Street station in central London in May last year. The A-level student was captured on CCTV hurling objects at rivals and fighting over a wooden pole with another thug.

Titus had previously been cautioned for battery after punching a journalist at a right-wing demonstration against the “Islamification of Europe” in December 2009, the Old Bailey heard. Earlier this year he was found guilty of threatening behaviour after snarling “f*** off” at a police officer who tried to break up a fight.

He is reported to be a youth organiser for the EDL and has appeared on the BBC Newsnight programme talking about his role in protests.

Titus, of North View, Pinner, appeared in court alongside five other men, all of whom admitted a charge of affray at earlier hearings. All six were remanded in custody to be sentenced on Wednesday.

Whether Titus is still involved in the EDL is questionable, but the fact is that he was earlier a key figure in the organisation, not least because his mixed-race origins were useful in deflecting attention from the reality that the EDL is made up overwhelmingly of white racists. The downside, from the standpoint of the rest of the EDL leadership, was that he also reinforced the image of their movement as a mob of drunken violent hooligans.

Race hate vandals strike near Birkenhead mosque

Birkenhead graffitiHate crime vandals spray-painted racial slurs over homes near Birkenhead’s mosque. The area surrounding the Borough Road mosque was targeted at the weekend with offensive graffiti such as “Islam = Murder” and “Britain for the British.”

The graffiti – painted onto walls in Sycamore Road and Mounsey Road, Birkenhead – has sparked outrage among local residents. One householder contacted the Globe via email to express disgust at the attack. The resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said:

“It is completely out of order, how can some bigoted people come in and think they can get away with this? They clearly don’t know much about the area because I am a white European, as are a lot of my neighbours. Of course, there are some ethnic minorities also living here but why should they have to put up with this sort of thing? I sincerely hope the culprits are caught and dealt with accordingly.”

Police say that following house-to-house inquiries, two males, aged 17 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. The men have been released on police bail pending further inquiries and the outcome of forensic results.

A spokesman said: “Merseyside Police do not tolerate any form of racist beheviour and would urge anyone who has any information on hate crime to contact us.” You can call police on 0151 709 6010 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Cash-strapped BNP ‘turns to racist hardcore’

The BNP was last night accused of turning to “a hardcore group of neo-Nazis and racists” to stand as candidates in next month’s local elections.

The anti-BNP campaign group Hope not Hate said it had compiled a dossier of extremist postings of candidates standing on 5 May, either in council elections or those to the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly. Among the postings the group collected from Facebook pages were:

* One BNP candidate in the North of England who posted on his Facebook page a mock advert for the gas Zyklon B – used in the Nazi extermination chambers of the Second World War – captioned, “Try Zyklon B. It’s a gas!”

* One candidate urges his followers to “Stamp out diseases today. Spray pakis and poofs with hydrochloric acid”.

* An activist in Wales, who has a photograph of his endorsement by BNP leader Nick Griffin on his Facebook page. Underneath it reads: “My grandfather was killed in Auschwitz. Apparently he got pissed and fell out of the watchtower!”

The candidate also posted, “Just popped round to see my Muslim neighbour’s new baby. She asked me if I wanted to wind it but that seemed a bit extreme so I gave it a dead leg instead.”

* A woman, describing herself as a “a big supporter of the BNP leader Nick Griffin”, responded to a protest by Muslims Against The Crusades by saying: “They should all be burned.”

‘BNP postings’ on facebook

* “7/7 – keep trying ya raghead bastards. This is our country our England our rules. Time2 packup and get the fuck out of dodge.”

* “Fly your flag! no excuses. We stock them. £5 to piss off your Muslim neigbours off big style. What a fucking bargain.”

* “Going to the polling station was aday out for the lazy African population as they don’t work.”

* “Unless we stand up and are counted then it’s bye bye England.”

The political background to True Finns’ electoral success

The success of the anti-immigration, euroskeptic True Finns in Sunday’s elections may have proved a shock to Finland’s political elite, but the signs were already there.

Populist right-wing parties across Europe have benefited from a growing resentment towards the European Union, Islam and immigration, meaning Timo Soini’s True Finns are far from being alone.

EDL supporter jailed for burning Qur’an in Carlisle city centre

Andrew_RyanA Carlisle man who set fire to the Koran in an act of “theatrical bigotry” has been jailed. Andrew Ryan, 32, shouted abuse about Muslims as he set the book alight in the city centre in January. Yesterday he was sent to prison for 70 days by district judge Gerald Chalk.

Ryan, of Summerhill, off London Road, Carlisle, claims to be a member of the English Defence League. He arrived at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court flanked by flag-waving supporters. Carrying the St George’s Cross, they were shouting “We love you England” and a variety of other nationalistic chants. Some followed Ryan into the building and when his sentence was passed they stormed out, shouting abuse as they left the courtroom.
