Bristol Labour politicians condemn EDL march

Bristol’s two Labour MPs, and the party’s candidate for elected mayor, have issued a joint statement condemning Saturday’s march by the English Defence League (EDL) in the city.

Dawn Primarolo (Bristol South), Kerry McCarthy (Bristol East) and Marvin Rees said yesterday there was “no place for the EDL in Bristol”, but urged those planning to protest against the group to co-operate with police.

Youth who joined EDL attack on Redbridge Islamic Centre fails to get sentence reduced

A 15-year-old boy locked up after a racist mob attack on Redbridge Islamic Centre, has failed to convince judges he was too harshly punished.

The youth, who cannot be named because of he is age, was among a throng which massed outside the mosque in Eastern Avenue, Redbridge, in March last year, London’s Appeal Court heard, engaging in “racist chanting and seeking to damage a window and outside fence”.

Lord Justice Moses, who described the incident as “serious, racist mob violence”, added that a brick was also hurled at the mosque’s imam during the fracas.

Florida: Muslims say group’s police training maligns faith

Hassan Shibly CAIRLaw enforcement officials across Florida have been repeatedly exposed to training on Muslim extremism “full of inaccuracies, sweeping generalizations and stereotypes,” a complaint filed Wednesday claims.

The classes have maligned the Prophet Muhammad and promulgated mistruths about Islam, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations and a number of mosques and smaller Muslim organizations.

“It’s troubling, un-American and frankly, quite possibly illegal training,” said Hassan Shibly of CAIR, which focused its criticisms squarely on one man, Sam Kharoba, who has led a variety of classes for police through his Counter Terrorism Operations Center. “It makes us less safe and less free.”

Nouredine Rachedi’s attackers convicted of Islamophobic assault

Ajib and Al Kanz report that Nouredine Rachedi, who suffered a vicious attack by two far-right thugs back in 2008, has finally secured some sort of justice. The two men who attacked him, Kevin Lamadieu et Romain Blandin, have been convicted of religiously motivated asault. They each received suspended prison sentences of 15 minths and are required to pay damages of €15,000.

Michele Bachmann and Frank GaffneyMichele Bachmann thinks the Muslim Brotherhood has made “deep penetration” into the U.S. government, and she wants five federal agencies to launch an investigation into its influence.

And you thought McCarthyism was a relic of the 1950s!

In a June interview with radio host Sandy Rios, Bachmann said: “It appears that there has been deep penetration in the halls of our United States government by the Muslim Brotherhood… that there are individuals who are associated with the Muslim Brotherhood who have positions, very sensitive positions, in our Department of Justice, our Department of Homeland Security, potentially even in the National Intelligence Agency.”

Florida: Muslim worker accuses UPS of bias

UPS logoIn the last decade, 6,600 Muslims have filed complaints with the federal government, claiming that their employers discriminated against them because of their beliefs.

But Ashraf Sarandah’s allegations against the United Parcel Service of America go way beyond the typical religious discrimination charges, according to his lawyers.

Ashraf claims that his boss at UPS called him “a monkey” over instant messenger, because of the color of his skin. And another manager allegedly followed him into the bathroom, mocked him for urinating sitting down, as Ashraf’s particular beliefs dictate, and gave him a demonstration in “how we urinate in this country.”

NF supporter arrested during Swansea protest against ‘Muslim rapists’

Swansea NF demoA 21-year-old man has been arrested during a demonstration by Far Right campaigners in Swansea.

Police intervened during the demonstration in the city centre on Saturday organised by the South Wales National Front in Union Street.

Officers made the arrest for an alleged racial public order offence. They also confiscated banners and posters to ensure there was no breach of the peace.

The 21-year-old man is believed to be from Swansea and has been released on bail following the arrest.

A terrorism expert and author is warning of what he perceives as a threat to the U.S. military, and suggesting to lower that danger, Muslims not be allowed to enlist in the ranks.

Muslim Mafia” co-author David Gaubatz said on a recent edition of his counterterrorism radio program that because of a Muslim’s first allegiance to Shariah law, they are ill-fitted for the U.S. armed forces.

Gaubatz said a mosque leader in Knoxville, Tenn., reported many Muslims in the military believe that their fellow soldiers are the “enemy.”
