Baroness Cox tells Israeli audience that ‘Islam is using the freedoms of democracy to destroy it’

Baroness Caroline Cox of Queensbury warned about the growing threat of political Islam in Britain and Africa at an event hosted by the Yuval Ne’eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security at Tel Aviv University and The Israeli Institute for Strategic Studies on Monday.

“Islam is using the freedoms of democracy to destroy it,” as some of its adherents try to “inhibit criticism,” said Cox, speaking at the Green House next to the university. In England, if you criticize Islam, you are called a racist, she said.

IDF officers produce Islamophobic T-shirt

IDF T-shirtYediot Achronot reported that several IDF officers created a T-shirt for their soldiers with a chilling explicitly racist, Islamophobic message. It read: “Every Arab mother should know that the fate of her children is in our hands…Schem [Nablus] we’re on the way.”

The T-shirt features a graphic image of an armed soldier toppling the minaret of a mosque. It’s certainly designed to reassure the mothers of Nablus that the IDF believes in the purity of arms and is the most moral army in the world, as liberal Zionists and others like to claim.

This T-shirt is not an anomaly. Veterans of Operation Cast Lead made a variety of equally offensive products which were proudly modeled and sold online.

Clarion Fund’s new Islamophobic film, ‘Honor Diaries’

Honor Diaries (2)“The Clarion Fund (now the ‘Clarion Project–#1 news site on the threat of Islamic extremism’) rides again. After producing three classic Islamophobic films, Obsession, Third Jihad and Iranium, T-H-E-Y’R-E B-A-C-K with a new one, Honor Diaries. The new project focuses on honor killings and Islam’s supposed hatred of women. One has to ask why a film about the purported abuse of Muslim women was produced by Jews, and ones with a distinct ideological agenda at that.”

Richard Silverstein reviews the Clarion Fund’s latest exercise in Islam-bashing.

Piggin ‘idolised’ Israeli terrorist

Michael Piggin No More Mosques graffitiThe Daily Mail has an update on the Michael Piggin trial.

We already knew that Piggin “glorified” former English Defence League leader Stephen Lennon (“Tommy Robinson”), but it turns out he had another source of inspiration.

The Mail reports that the jury was shown “online chats with his friends in which he idolised religious extremist Baruch Goldstein, who went on a killing spree in a mosque”.

The reference is to the Hebron massacre in 1994, when the Kahanist terrorist Goldstein opened fire on Palestinian worshippers at the Ibrahim Mosque, killing 29 and wounding another 125.

Jerusalem councilman urges Muslims: ‘Leave Israel’

Aryeh King, Jerusalem Councilman of the United Jerusalem faction, has begun a new campaign distributing thousands of fliers to Arab residents of Jerusalem, urging them to leave Israel.

“You have many large countries that you can live in. Understand that we returned to Israel to fulfill what is written in the Torah,” reads the flier. “It isn’t easy for millions of people to abandon their homes without any monetary help. Therefore we propose that you negotiate with the state of Israel to receive economic aid to move and live elsewhere.”

King is the Chairperson of the Jerualem Municipality’s Environment Committee, as well as its Emergency and Security Committee. He is also the director and founder of the Israel Land Fund, and ran as number 4 on the list of candidates for Otzmah Leyisrael in the last Knesset elections.

Al-Aqsa Mosque Director Sheikh Najeh Bakirat has denounced the burning of the holy Quran and insults to Islam’s Prophet Muhammad by Israeli football fans in the northern Israeli city of Sakhnin on Wednesday.

“Israeli violations against Muslim religious symbols have gone beyond all red lines,” Bakirat told Anadolu Agency.

During a Wednesday football match, fans of Israeli soccer team Beitar Jerusalem burned a copy of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, and insulted Prophet Muhammad.

Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said that three fans in their twenties had been briefly detained over the incident.

Mosque vandalized with anti-Muslim slogans in apparent price tag attack

Baqa al-Gharbiya mosque graffitiUnknown assailants vandalized a mosque in the Arab Israeli village of Baka al-Gharbiyye in northern Israel on Sunday morning, in what police fear could be a so-called “price tag” attack.

On the walls of a local mosque, graffiti was sprayed reading “Muhammad is a pig” and “greetings from Boaz and David Hai”, the latter an apparent reference to Boaz Albert and David Hai, two West Bank settlers whose movement has been limited by police and army restrictions.

Locals also found a number of broken car windows in the village, and police are probing whether or not the two are linked. The damage was discovered around 5am Sunday morning, and the assumption is that the assailants caused the vandalism in the hours before.

Police said Sunday they view the incident as very grave, and vowed to find the perpetrators.

Tariq Ramadan plots the conquest of the West

Alan JohnsonWe’ve remarked in the past that depicting Tariq Ramadan (Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Oxford University) as some sort of dangerous extremist is a sure sign that Islamophobia has descended into complete dementia.

Judging by his article in the Telegraph denouncing the invitation to Professor Ramadan to deliver the annual George Orwell Lecture in London this week, Alan Johnson (pictured) would appear to be among those who have waved goodbye to rational thought on this subject.
