‘Jihad comes to Wall Street’

“If you’ve seen Geert Wilders’s film Fitna, you may not have noticed a single headline amongst all the bombings, beheadings, and earnest expressions of Islam’s eventual world domination: Halal-fund: investments for Muslims. But the investment vehicles referenced are an essential part of radical Islam’s efforts to insinuate itself into Western societies in order to destroy them from within. And Wall Street, barely out of the woods from its disastrous run-in with sub-prime mortgages – and having lost one of its historic investment houses, Bear Stearns, in the process – is now chasing the very kind of ‘sharia finance’ against which Wilders’s movie warns, a business line that may eventually wind up being even more calamitous than the subprime-mortgage fiasco….

“Sharia is a reactionary-to-the-core medieval Islamic doctrine that claims control over every aspect of every Muslim’s life. It imposes such ‘ethical’ mandates on Muslims as the obligation to discriminate against women and non-Muslims; to kill homosexuals, adulterers, and apostates; to establish and maintain Muslim rule around the world; and to carry out violent offensive jihad against infidels. Notably, for those Muslims who cannot engage in physical jihad using force of arms, sharia requires that they support jihad financially. This is what sharia finance is all about.”

Alex Alexiev at National Review Online, 3 April 2008

Update:   Mad Melanie Phillips entirely agrees: “Of all the manifestations of the Islamisation of the west sharia finance is perhaps the most deadly, because it effectively sells the west to Islam.”

BBC is too scared to allow jokes about Islam, says Ben Elton

Comedian Ben Elton has said the BBC is too “scared” to poke fun at Islam. He accused the broadcasting company of allowing programmes to run jokes about Christianity and vicars. However, he claimed bosses were too politically correct and worried about a negative backlash to do the same about imams. In an interview, Mr Elton, 48, who admits he has little religious faith, said: “I believe part of that is due to the genuine fear that the authorities and the community have about provoking the radical elements of Islam.” Mr Elton’s comments appeared in Third Way, a Christian culture magazine.

Daily Mail, 2 April 2008

Update:  Elton has received the endorsement of the BNP – and also of an extreme right-wing blogger rejoicing in the entirely appropriate name of Fulham Reactionary.

‘As if it couldn’t get any better… ‘ BNP deputy leader backs Ruoff

bnp-islam-poster“Incredible headlines in the tabloids today concerning Brown’s arrogance over immigration and his insistence on pushing ahead with replacing the indigenous population with Labour-voting imports…. As if it couldn’t get any better a member of the Church of England General Synod, Alison Ruoff, breaks ranks and demands that no more mosques are built in this country.

“Speaking on a Christian radio station she pulled no punches when stating: ‘You build a mosque and then what happens? You have Muslim people moving into that area, all the shops will then become Islamic, all the housing will then become Islamic and as the Bishop of Rochester has so wisely pointed out, that will be a no-go area for anyone else. They will bring in Islamic law. We cannot allow that to happen.’

“Inayat Bunglawala, the assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, wasted no time in tagging the issue for the Party adding, ‘These are unfortunately very bigoted and, frankly, xenophobic remarks. These kinds of comments you would expect to come from someone from the BNP not the Church.’ Yes indeed so Inayat and thank you so very much for reminding everybody just in case they hadn’t already got the message.”

Back Boris urges BNP

BNP Islam Referendum DayToday the BNP urged its supporters to cast a second preference vote for Boris Johnson in the London mayoral election. The fascists explained that “a second choice vote for him gives you the chance to vote BNP as your first preference and still vote to get Livingstone out of office”. The replacement of Livingstone by Johnson would, the BNP opined, “be an improvement for the majority of Londoners”.

You can see why the fascists might favour Boris Johnson. When it comes to Islamophobia – and the BNP are urging voters to make Thursday May 1st a referendum on Islam – they find much common ground with the Tory mayoral candidate.

‘Muslim cleric urges punishment for non-Muslims’

Battle for London has begun“At the same time as a Muslim leader at the East London Mosque was sent to 27 years in jail for a rape, a prominent Islamic cleric and lawyer has been exposed as supporting extreme punishment for non-Muslims – including killing and rape. A question-and-answer session between a member of ‘Islam Watch’ and Imam Abdul Makin in the same East London mosque, saw the Imam asked why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters. ‘Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet,’ the Imam says, according to the report. ‘If you don’t believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain.’ The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam’s position, saying that all Muslims are innocent.”

BNP news article, 2 April 2008

This story, which originates with Fox News and is based on a recent post at the Islam Watch website, has been doing the rounds of the right-wing blogosphere. It appears to have escaped the BNP’s attention that the “Imam Abdul Makin” referred to in the Islam Watch piece is the same Abdul Mukin Khalisadar who was convicted of rape. He is neither an imam, nor a “prominent Islamic cleric”, nor a “leader” at the East London Mosque.

The mosque’s legal representatives have already written to the Sun in connection with its defamatory report of the rape case. Perhaps they should do the same to the BNP.

As for Anjem Choudary, who heads a tiny group of nutters deriving from the now-banned Al-Muhajiroun, the revelation that he is “the top Muslim lawyer of Britain” at least has the merit of giving us all a good laugh.

And in view of its recent troubles over its London organiser and Assembly candidate Nick Eriksen, you might have thought that the BNP would steer well clear of the subject of rape.

No more mosques, says senior Synod member

Alison RuoffA senior lay member of the Church of England’s “Parliament” has called for a ban on the building of more mosques in Britain. Alison Ruoff, a long-standing member of the General Synod, said that new mosques should not be built in this country while Islamic states continued to persecute Christians.

Mrs Ruoff, speaking in an interview with Premier Radio, the Christian radio station, said: “No more mosques in the UK. We are constantly building new mosques, which are paid for by the money that comes from oil states. We have only in this country, as far as we know, 3.5 to four million Muslims. There are enough mosques for Muslims in this country, they don’t need any more.

“We don’t need to have sharia law which would come with more mosques imposed upon our nation, if we don’t watch out, that would happen. If we want to become an Islamic state, this is the way to go.

“You build a mosque and then what happens? You have Muslim people moving into that area, all the shops will then become Islamic, all the housing will then become Islamic and as the Bishop of Rochester has so wisely pointed out, that will be a no go area for anyone else. They will bring in Islamic law. We cannot allow that to happen.” Mrs Ruoff added: “We are still a Christian country, we need to hold on to that. If we don’t watch out, we will become an Islamic state. It’s that serious.”

Inayat Bunglawala, the assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “These are unfortunately very bigoted and, frankly, xenophobic remarks.” He added: “These kinds of comments you would expect to come from someone from the BNP not the Church.”

Daily Telegraph, 2 April 2008

Indeed, the BNP itself applauds Ruoff’s “starlingly [sic] refreshing statement”.

See also the online discussion on the Daily Express website. Sample comments:

“Most people I believe agree with Alison Ruoff and dont want any Mosques in this country let alone more. With this Bunglawala and his Muslim Council the BNP is looking more and more attractive to vote for as each day goes by.”

“WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE? WHY ARE WE BUILDING MOSQUE’S WHEN WE ARE UNDER THREAT FROM ISLAM? WHY ISN’T THIS GOVERNMENT DEFENDING THE CHRISTIAN BASIS OF THIS COUNTRY? WHY, WHY, WHY?”

“I’ve seen Geert Wilmer’s film Fitna and every word and image of it is true. There is no room for Islam in Britain or Europe or indeed on the planet. The preaching and dissemination of it is SEDITION. Pull down the Mosques and deport all of those who espouse Islam…”

“Wouldn’t it be a better idea to demolish the existing mosques never mind letting them build more of their temples of backwardness and intolerance?”

“We do not want the Islamification of Britain. Stop immigration now! Stop the building of mosques. Never accept Sharia law in this country. This government, and previous ones, have overlooked the systematic erosion of our cultural lives…. The seeds of Islam are planted and have spread over our land like poison ivy.”

Muslim hairdresser accuses salon owner of ‘blatant’ religious discrimination

Wedge logoThe opening shots in a £34,000 employment battle between a pink-haired salon owner and a headscarf-wearing Muslim stylist were fired yesterday with an accusation of “blatant” religious discrimination.

Bushra Noah, 19, is claiming that amount in compensation after being turned down for a job at the Wedge salon, which specialises in “urban, edgy and funky” cuts. Owner Sarah Desrosiers, 32, says it is an “absolutely basic” job requirement that stylists should have their hair on show if they are to cut other people’s.

But Miss Noah argued: “I know my punk from my funk and my urban from my trendy. The fact that I wear a headscarf does not mean that I cannot assist in an alternative form of hairdressing. It is essential to my religion and is non-negotiable. I have been wearing it from the age of 13 and I had never suffered from such blatant discrimination until I visited Miss Desrosiers.”

She told a tribunal in central London how her interview at Wedge, at King’s Cross, left her devastated. She said: “Miss Desrosiers looked at me in shock. She asked me if I wore my headscarf all the time and I explained that I did. She asked me if I ever took it off and I said that I only took it off at home. She said as this is a hair salon it was essential that I did not wear a headscarf. Miss Desrosiers then said how uncomfortable she felt with me being around.”

Scum-watch: Harassing the evil Islamic terrorist Abdul Muneem Patel

“As Sun journalists obviously don’t have anything better to do, they’ve taken to stalking one of the men released in January a whole 18 days early from his sentence for having in his possession a manual on explosives. ‘FURY erupted last night after The Sun tracked down an Islamic terrorist released early because of jail overcrowding. Neighbours were not told evil Abdul Muneem Patel, 18, had plotted a jet terror attack.‘ Err, could that possibly be because he hadn’t?”
