Revealed: Islamist extremists have penetrated the heart of Britain

Islamist extremists have infiltrated Government and key public utilities to pass sensitive information to terrorists, the security services have warned. Counter-terrorism officials say “insiders” or their associates are almost certainly working “undetected” in sensitive posts and are actively supporting the activities of extremists.

The development is detailed in intelligence reports circulated to the Home Office, police and Whitehall officials. The London Underground, Gatwick airport and BT are cited as examples of organisations which have been targeted by individuals linked to terrorists. Officials say the idea of “penetrating the enemy is pervasive” for Islamist extremists. It is understood a number of suspected jihadists working in Government departments and the public services are being monitored by the security services.

Details of the threat emerged months after the Daily Mail revealed fears that Scotland Yard has been infiltrated by individuals linked to extremist groups including Al Qaeda. Several police officers and civilian staff are being monitored amid claims they are long-term sleepers trying to gain sensitive information of use to terrorists.

Dutch MPs call for Islamophobia debate

MPs from the left-wing green party GroenLinks on Tuesday called for an emergency debate with integration minister Ella Vogelaar after an EU watchdog said Muslim minorities in the Netherlands are facing increasing violence and intolerance.

The new report from the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance said Islamophobia in the Netherlands has “increased dramatically” since 2000. “The criminal justice system, and notably the police, still needs to enhance its role in monitoring and countering racially-motivated offences,” the report said.

The tone of Dutch political and public debate around integration and other issues relevant to ethnic minorities has experienced “dramatic deterioration,” the report say and goes on to warn of a “worrying polarisation between majority and minority communities”. It criticises the official approach to integration for focusing too much on the “perceived deficiencies” among the minority population.

The Netherlands Muslims – around 6% of the population – face “stereotyping, stigmatising, outright racist political discourse and biased media portrayal,” the report continues. Anti-semitism is also on the rise.

The report calls on the Dutch authorities to take the lead in promoting a public debate on integration that avoids “polarisation, antagonism, and hostility”. It calls on ministers to take steps to counter the use of “racist and xenophobic discourse in politics” and review a number of policies which it says result in direct and indirect racial discrimination.

In particular, the report singles out anti-immigration MP Geert Wilder’s PVV party which it says has been “particularly vocal in proposing controversial policies and in resorting to racist or xenophobic discourse, targeting above all Muslim communities”. However, the report notes: “members of mainstream political parties rarely take a stand against this type of discourse.”

Mosque critic brands himself the ‘Christian choice’ for mayor

Alan Craig in churchA councillor who campaigns against a “mega mosque” near the Olympic Park in Stratford is to run for London mayor. Alan Craig, leader of the Christian People’s Alliance opposition group on Newham council, is to be a candidate in the 1 May poll. He will also run for the London Assembly and could win a seat if he secures five per cent of the votes cast across the capital. He has been chosen to represent the Christian Party and will brand himself the “Christian choice”.

Mr Craig has been active in opposing the mosque proposed for West Ham, which would be the biggest in Europe. He says it “must be challenged for the sake of open, diverse London” because it is being backed by “separatist Islamic sect” Tablighi Jamaat. He said: “Londoners are right to be proud of our diverse and multi-ethnic capital where openness and tolerance are vital for our thriving world-class city. This proposed national landmark mosque stands for separateness and secrecy and against social cohesion.”

Militant Islam reaches Britain

Daniel_Pipes“Beneath the deceptively placid surface of everyday life, the British population is engaged in a momentous encounter with Islam. Three developments of the past week, each of them culminating years’ long trend – and not just some odd occurrence – exemplify changes now underway…. These developments suggest that British appeasement concerning the war on terror, the nature of the family, and the rule of law are part of a larger pattern. Even more than the security threat posed by Islamist violence, these trends are challenging and perhaps will change the very nature of Western life.”

‘The time has come for Muslims to fully adopt the British way of life’

“… while the Archbishop and his fellow travellers spout their nonsense, the leaders of British Islam still don’t appreciate the degree to which their behaviour is despised by the majority of the public. Unless they give up their obsession with grievance and victimhood and instead understand the need to integrate and contribute positively, Britain will slide towards segregation and civil strife….

“Consider which of these statements best reflects your own view: a) Britain would be a better country if there were more Muslims living here. b) There is the right number of Muslims in Britain to serve the country’s interests. c) It would be preferable if Britain did not have a large Muslim population at all. Got an answer yet? I bet it wasn’t A….

“On an economic level, the impact of Britain’s Muslims is massively negative. Research shows Muslim communities are typified by heavy levels of welfare dependency and low levels of wealth creation…. On a wider cultural basis, the impact of Islam on this country is also strongly negative in the eyes of the public. Islam has repressed women in a way Britain has not tolerated for hundreds of years. Forced marriage, honour killing, female genital mutilation, enforced wearing of the veil – all are abominations present within British Muslim communities.

“The repression of womenfolk has also led some Muslim men to view vulnerable young women from outside the faith as sub-human sexual fodder fit only to be used and abused. Freedom of speech has also been curtailed thanks to the sabre-rattling of angry Muslims. Not since the ‘fatwah’ declared upon Salman Rushdie, forcing him into hiding, have even our most outspoken public figures felt free to fully express themselves. Muslim urban ghettos have also reintroduced electoral fraud as a regular feature of British political life.”
