Back Boris urges BNP

BNP Islam Referendum DayToday the BNP urged its supporters to cast a second preference vote for Boris Johnson in the London mayoral election. The fascists explained that “a second choice vote for him gives you the chance to vote BNP as your first preference and still vote to get Livingstone out of office”. The replacement of Livingstone by Johnson would, the BNP opined, “be an improvement for the majority of Londoners”.

You can see why the fascists might favour Boris Johnson. When it comes to Islamophobia – and the BNP are urging voters to make Thursday May 1st a referendum on Islam – they find much common ground with the Tory mayoral candidate.

‘Muslim cleric urges punishment for non-Muslims’

Battle for London has begun“At the same time as a Muslim leader at the East London Mosque was sent to 27 years in jail for a rape, a prominent Islamic cleric and lawyer has been exposed as supporting extreme punishment for non-Muslims – including killing and rape. A question-and-answer session between a member of ‘Islam Watch’ and Imam Abdul Makin in the same East London mosque, saw the Imam asked why Allah would tell Muslims to kill and rape innocent non-Muslims, including their wives and daughters. ‘Because non-Muslims are never innocent, they are guilty of denying Allah and his prophet,’ the Imam says, according to the report. ‘If you don’t believe me, here is the legal authority, the top Muslim lawyer of Britain.’ The lawyer, Anjem Choudary, backs up the Imam’s position, saying that all Muslims are innocent.”

BNP news article, 2 April 2008

This story, which originates with Fox News and is based on a recent post at the Islam Watch website, has been doing the rounds of the right-wing blogosphere. It appears to have escaped the BNP’s attention that the “Imam Abdul Makin” referred to in the Islam Watch piece is the same Abdul Mukin Khalisadar who was convicted of rape. He is neither an imam, nor a “prominent Islamic cleric”, nor a “leader” at the East London Mosque.

The mosque’s legal representatives have already written to the Sun in connection with its defamatory report of the rape case. Perhaps they should do the same to the BNP.

As for Anjem Choudary, who heads a tiny group of nutters deriving from the now-banned Al-Muhajiroun, the revelation that he is “the top Muslim lawyer of Britain” at least has the merit of giving us all a good laugh.

And in view of its recent troubles over its London organiser and Assembly candidate Nick Eriksen, you might have thought that the BNP would steer well clear of the subject of rape.

No more mosques, says senior Synod member

Alison RuoffA senior lay member of the Church of England’s “Parliament” has called for a ban on the building of more mosques in Britain. Alison Ruoff, a long-standing member of the General Synod, said that new mosques should not be built in this country while Islamic states continued to persecute Christians.

Mrs Ruoff, speaking in an interview with Premier Radio, the Christian radio station, said: “No more mosques in the UK. We are constantly building new mosques, which are paid for by the money that comes from oil states. We have only in this country, as far as we know, 3.5 to four million Muslims. There are enough mosques for Muslims in this country, they don’t need any more.

“We don’t need to have sharia law which would come with more mosques imposed upon our nation, if we don’t watch out, that would happen. If we want to become an Islamic state, this is the way to go.

“You build a mosque and then what happens? You have Muslim people moving into that area, all the shops will then become Islamic, all the housing will then become Islamic and as the Bishop of Rochester has so wisely pointed out, that will be a no go area for anyone else. They will bring in Islamic law. We cannot allow that to happen.” Mrs Ruoff added: “We are still a Christian country, we need to hold on to that. If we don’t watch out, we will become an Islamic state. It’s that serious.”

Inayat Bunglawala, the assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “These are unfortunately very bigoted and, frankly, xenophobic remarks.” He added: “These kinds of comments you would expect to come from someone from the BNP not the Church.”

Indeed, the BNP itself applauds Ruoff’s “starlingly [sic] refreshing statement”.

See also the online discussion on the Daily Express website. Sample comments:

“Most people I believe agree with Alison Ruoff and dont want any Mosques in this country let alone more. With this Bunglawala and his Muslim Council the BNP is looking more and more attractive to vote for as each day goes by.”

“WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE? WHY ARE WE BUILDING MOSQUE’S WHEN WE ARE UNDER THREAT FROM ISLAM? WHY ISN’T THIS GOVERNMENT DEFENDING THE CHRISTIAN BASIS OF THIS COUNTRY? WHY, WHY, WHY?”

“I’ve seen Geert Wilmer’s film Fitna and every word and image of it is true. There is no room for Islam in Britain or Europe or indeed on the planet. The preaching and dissemination of it is SEDITION. Pull down the Mosques and deport all of those who espouse Islam…”

“Wouldn’t it be a better idea to demolish the existing mosques never mind letting them build more of their temples of backwardness and intolerance?”

“We do not want the Islamification of Britain. Stop immigration now! Stop the building of mosques. Never accept Sharia law in this country. This government, and previous ones, have overlooked the systematic erosion of our cultural lives…. The seeds of Islam are planted and have spread over our land like poison ivy.”

Muslim hairdresser accuses salon owner of ‘blatant’ religious discrimination

Wedge logoThe opening shots in a £34,000 employment battle between a pink-haired salon owner and a headscarf-wearing Muslim stylist were fired yesterday with an accusation of “blatant” religious discrimination.

Bushra Noah, 19, is claiming that amount in compensation after being turned down for a job at the Wedge salon, which specialises in “urban, edgy and funky” cuts. Owner Sarah Desrosiers, 32, says it is an “absolutely basic” job requirement that stylists should have their hair on show if they are to cut other people’s.

But Miss Noah argued: “I know my punk from my funk and my urban from my trendy. The fact that I wear a headscarf does not mean that I cannot assist in an alternative form of hairdressing. It is essential to my religion and is non-negotiable. I have been wearing it from the age of 13 and I had never suffered from such blatant discrimination until I visited Miss Desrosiers.”

She told a tribunal in central London how her interview at Wedge, at King’s Cross, left her devastated. She said: “Miss Desrosiers looked at me in shock. She asked me if I wore my headscarf all the time and I explained that I did. She asked me if I ever took it off and I said that I only took it off at home. She said as this is a hair salon it was essential that I did not wear a headscarf. Miss Desrosiers then said how uncomfortable she felt with me being around.”

Scum-watch: Harassing the evil Islamic terrorist Abdul Muneem Patel

“As Sun journalists obviously don’t have anything better to do, they’ve taken to stalking one of the men released in January a whole 18 days early from his sentence for having in his possession a manual on explosives. ‘FURY erupted last night after The Sun tracked down an Islamic terrorist released early because of jail overcrowding. Neighbours were not told evil Abdul Muneem Patel, 18, had plotted a jet terror attack.‘ Err, could that possibly be because he hadn’t?”

Mad Mel finds another film she likes

What the West Needs to Know“A propos the Wilders film Fitna, another longer film is now on line which does a much better job at informing people about Islam and exposing the absurd (early) claims by Tony Blair and George W Bush that Islamic terrorism apparently had nothing to do with Islam. Called What the West Needs to Know, it explains in a scholarly, authoritative but nevertheless accessible and balanced manner how the basic tenets of Islam have given rise to the global jihad, their implications and consequences and how they are the principal motor behind major conflicts around the world.

“… what the west simply doesn’t understand is that the Arab war against Israel is driven not by nationalism but by the religious drive to reconquer that territory for Islam, as a part of the medieval Islamic empire that is to rise once again from the ashes of the free world. The war against Israel is not a boundary dispute. It’s a religious war of conquest.”

Dutch Jewish group condemns Wilders film

The newly-released anti-Islam film by right-wing Dutch legislator Geert Wilders drew condemnations from the Netherlands’ Central Jewish Board, which Friday called the film’s focus on anti-Jewish preachings by Muslims “counterproductive” and “generalizing.”

In keeping with Wilders’ belief in a Judeo-Christian partnership in the face of “the threat of Islam,” the 15-minute film, entitled “Fitna” – Arabic for strife – shows clerics calling to behead Jews, Koran passages equating Jews to “apes and swines” and photos of demonstrators promising “another Holocaust” and praising Adolf Hitler.

In a statement following the film’s online release, the board said that Wilders – the leader of the Party for Freedom – was guilty of serious generalizations. “Wilders presented demographics on the increase of Muslims in Europe with pictures from scenes of terrorist attacks, suggesting all Muslims are potential terrorists,” head of the Hague-based Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, Dr. Ronny Naftaniel, Saturday told Haaretz.

While the anti-Semitic material Wilders compiled “demonstrates some Muslims have terrible ideas about Jews,” the way Fitna portrays reality serves to “polarize Dutch society,” the board said, adding this was counterproductive to the fight against extremism.
