Another charge filed against suspected Toledo mosque arsonist
A third crime has been added to the charges filed against an Indiana man arrested for the arson fire at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.
Randolph Linn, 52, of St. Joe, Indiana, was charged in October with one count each of intentionally defacing, damaging, and destroying religious property and using a fire to commit a felony. Today, a federal grand jury also indicted him on a charge of using and carrying a firearm to commit a crime of violence.

Alaska House of Representatives employee illegally used state resources to promote SIOA
A legislative aide who joined an anti-Islam group and became obsessed with its mission crossed the line and illegally used state resources to promote its interests, a state ethics panel concluded in a ruling released Friday.
Minutes after the ruling was made public, Karen Sawyer’s new boss, state Rep. Shelley Hughes, R-Palmer, announced that Sawyer resigned her job.
Police search for man who threatened worshippers at California mosque
Members of a Fremont mosque were shaken after a man entered the building Wednesday then threatened everyone inside.
Police said a man walked into the Ibrahim Khalillullah Islamic Center on Osgood Road Wednesday during afternoon prayer and said he had a gun and threatened to kill everyone inside. The people inside asked him to leave and he left peacefully, but he remains on the run.
The center’s leaders told KTVU they’ve never had anything like that happen before. “We are a little worried because of the situation that happened in Oregon,” said Fareed Wardak, a board of director’s member. “We don’t want the same thing to happen.”

National ‘MyJihad’ campaign launched with Chicago bus ads
On Friday, December 14, the Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) will announce the launch of the “MyJihad” educational campaign at a press conference in the morning and at a community party in the afternoon.
MyJihad is an independent national initiative that seeks to share the proper meaning of Jihad as believed and practiced by the majority of Muslims. Jihad is a central tenet of the Islamic creed, which means struggling uphill in order to get to a better place.
Bachmann claims Obama administration has embraced plan to bring Islamic law to U.S.
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says President Barack Obama’s administration has embraced what she calls a bid by Islamic fundamentalists to bring the U.S. government in line with Islamic law.
Bachmann, R-Stillwater, made the comments last weekend in an interview with Jan Markell, a Maple Grove-based Christian minister with Olive Tree Ministries.

FBI: Anti-Muslim hate crimes remain relatively high
Hate crimes against perceived Muslims, which jumped up 50% in 2010 largely as a result of anti-Muslim propagandizing, remained at relatively high levels last year, according to 2011 hate crime statistics released today by the FBI.
