Prominent figures in the Islamophobic far-right party the Sweden Democrats, including Kent Ekeroth, have fallen victim to a prank, Nyheter24 reports.

As a farewell stunt the PR agency Studio Total, who are due to close in the new year, persuaded the SD politicians to be photographed, each holding a placard with a single letter. These were then combined to produce the message “Vi älskar Muslimer” (“We love Muslims”).

In a tongue-in-cheek statement Studio Total explained that the Sweden Democrats had suffered a lot of negative publicity recently, and they thought it would be helpful to associate the party with a positive message.

Somehow I doubt Kent Ekeroth appreciates the joke.
