Protests against mosque in Kaliningrad

Last Sunday, residents of the Moscow District, Kaliningrad, held the third picket against building mosque in the Yuzhny city park.

About 100 people participated in the protest action allowed by the city administration. The picket was traditionally held at the park entrance where the mosque building had started.

The action was held with slogans and posters demanding Kaliningrad authorities to stop the cutting of the park and give up building that had already started. Some of them were addressed to the certain deputies of district city council.

The action organizers collected signatures against the building as well as against destruction and building up other park zones in Kaliningrad. According to them, there are already 10 thousand signatures collected.

The protest activists claim that authorities have violated law when giving permission to build a mosque. Corresponding statements were sent to various official channels.
